The Missing Book

It seems one of my books has vanished in thin air. Because I have recently acquired a handful of new books I was reorganizing my books today, and I was working on trying to group the same authors all together, because as I get newer books and such, then the books end up getting placed in different places. So I was trying to make things a bit more organized.

So I was gathering up these books I have that are from the same series so I could put them together, and one of the books that I have a distinct memory of having, and when I checked my list it is crossed off as a book I already own, I now cannot find anywhere.

I have a very strong visual image of having this book and having seen it in my room, and I cannot find it in the place that I am certain it use to be, and I looked in every other convincible place it might have been, checked all my other book shelves, and I cannot find it anywhere.

I know for a fact I have not already read the book, and I know I haven't lent it out to anyone, so I have no idea where it could possibly be.

I suppose eventually when I least expect it will suddenly turn up somewhere. Or I will just have to buy it again when I find it cheap somewhere.

    What book is it? That happens to me occasionally, but I usually find the book, much later, in a place it should not be. Usually it's under something.

    I think I would buy it again and find the first copy immediately.
    You might then give the extra copy to a charity or a friend, or just trade it in on some future used book purchase. Seriously though, if you are now interested to read it, strike while the iron is hot, find it and read it. If you only think that you might read it one day then wait. You will find it cheap that way or it will turn up in the meantime...peace...

    The book is called Arthur by Stephen Lawhead from his Pendragon Cycle.

    And I do not think I will be reading the book immediately as it is not even the first book in the series which I have not even started yet, so I will for the time just wait and if by chance I see it again at a book sale and haven't found my copy yet I will pick it up.

    I've misplaced some Zane Grey Western digests recently and I stare at the boxes and dread the eventual search. I have a dealer in town that has been very good on book searches for me. A little too good soemtimes so I have to budget for them. I need more space and bookcases.

    That happens to me all the time. I then get into a mental frame where i can swear it's here somewhere and i get obssessed in trying to find it.

    Yes, that is my problem, even though I am not about to read it anytime soon I become obcessed with trying to find it, and looked on the same shelf like three times, and looked in places I did not think it could even be.
