Self-god

"There are many things that we would throw away if we were not afraid that others might pick them up." Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray. I simply do not want to be kept just because I could be picked up by someone else. With this piece of wisdom from one of my adored poets, I consider myself to have found a treasure--a treasure to rediscover my self-worth, redefine my existence and resuscitate the long forlorn feeling of self-love.
If there is a god,
it exists in me, nowhere else.
The best way to love myself
is by being the god in me.
I will act as my own god.
I can be omniscient to my own tiny spectacle.
I am well-versed in this secluded jungle.
I know every blind curve, every high cliff,
where I could fall in some nights when the moon is absent.
I can foresee, I can discern, I simply can tell.
Like a true god,
I will know those that will bring me harm
and that which will bring me good.
I just have to intently listen, to pay attention.
With this, I will never be lost.
Because I am my own god.
If I will be loved, I should be loved right.
Otherwise, I am not loved at all.
And that is fine.
