the ocean always dreamed blue dreams

If I were a rich man

Welcome to my fantasy! If I were immensely wealthy, here are some of the places I would choose to live. You are welcome to visit anytime!

This is my home in Venice, Italy.

And here is my home in Paris, on the Ile St.-Louis.

This is where we eat dinner at my home on the island of Crete.

My castle-in Ireland. Yes, I own a castle. You are all invited to stay with me.

My victorian home-the red one-in Montreal.

I cannot desert my beloved Oklahoma. Here is my home on Swan Lake in Tulsa, Oklahoma, very near where I used to live when I first graduated from college many -uhum- years ago. I lived in an apartment then, needless to say.

Oops! I almost forgot my brownstone in Brooklyn. A tree grows near it which is very famous and beloved, not least by me. My home in sunny Tuscany to be added at a later time.

I just had to have this one, as it shares my name!

The view from my wilderness home in the Yorkshire Dales (for Lote ).

The view from my beach cottage on Padre Island, in Texas. A little slice of heaven.

My home in Colorado. Rocky Mountain High.

A view of my pond from my cabin door. It's called Walden. It is quiet here, but I am never desperate.

    What? No New York City?

Love the pictures of you homes. If I were to live in somewhere in Italy I would pick Florence/Tuscany. While Venice is the most beautiful city in the world, it's really tough to get around.

I think you just weren't reading very closely, Virgil!
Of course I have a home in New York. We're neighbors! Well, sort of. I'm not sure where your island is in relation to mine.

And I would love to live in Tuscany! I chose Venice because this is a fantasy after all; I don't have to worry about getting around at all. It is always easy in my dreams.

I grew up in Brooklyn (though not in a Brownstone) and I now live on Staten Island, which is across the Verazano Bridge from Brooklyn.

And here - but for my ineptitude with finding and posting images - here is your home...

I think of all the places pictured, I like Oklahoma best. That porch looks so inviting.

Thank You, Prince! I return the favor.

I have to agree, Shalot and Virgil. That one is the home of my heart.

If you ever come over to Ireland you should go see it. i think they open it up to visitors. Still primarily a family home.

    I would love that!

If I had the choice of absolutely anywhere to live, there is a lighthouse on the north-eastern corner of the island of Anglesey (Ynys Mon), called Point Lynas, and which is currently up for sale. It is just the most magical place I have ever been - spent a week there earlier this year - and if I had the requisity 1.2 million pounds, I'd buy it tomorrow. Ah well, it's nice to dream, I suppose! All that solitude, the horses, the sea, the rocks, the passing ships.....
