April Fools Day from the Universe

Rate this Entry
I never have been a hug fan of April Fools Day, and this is why, the universe has conspired to punk me. It all began somewhere around midnight last night/early this morning when the power went out, and so I was forced to go to bed because there was nothing else to do without power at that hour of the night.

Then I got up early in the morning and was feeling a little dizzy but at the time did not think much about it, went back to bed and fell asleep for a little longer, and when I woke up again, I was still dizzy when I tried to get out of bed, and ended up having vertigo for pretty much all day.

So I could not get any reading done, and decided to try and watch the new episodes of Breaking Bad on Demand, and guess what, the power goes out again.

So now there I am, pretty much stuck lying on the coach, and denied all forms of possible entertainment.

Then the power finally came back on and for whatever reason, I couldn't get the TV to turn back on, and finally I was driven by my boredom to attempt going on the computer and I am feeling better now though still a bit woozy and I have all of these books to start reading for April, and I haven't been able to pick up a single one of them.

I'm sorry. It's horrible to be denied "all forms of possible entertainment." Ugh. I spent nine hours in a waiting room yesterday, so I feel your pain.

But the dizziness is worrisome. If it continues, maybe you should see a doctor.

Thank you, I am feeling better now, and well I am not prone to dizziniess, I heard somwhere that when you have allergies it can cause vertigo something to do with liquid between your ears or something.

Were you just dizzy, or was it for-realzies vertigo? Did it feel like you were moving, or was it your environment? Did it spin worse when you moved your head?

I remember from my anatomy lessons about the inner ear that actual vertigo is pretty rare (allergies don't cause vertigo because the inflamation of the respiratory tract doesn't effect the vestibular system). It's usually just because of a migrane or motion sickness, stuff like that. It's taken pretty seriously, though. Even if it only lasts a couple of seconds it can indicate that something is really wrong (internal hemmoraging, bacterial infection that can result in hearing loss, multiple sclorosis, a lot of nasty things). If you start to feel like either you or your environment is wobbling around when everything is actually stationary (for any length of time, even if it's just once), you're supposed to go to the doctor (and since this lasted an entire day, you really should do that).

It was just a feeling of dizznyness when I stood up or tried to walk around and would make me a little nautious if I moved around too much.
