I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the Constellation of Kasterborous. I'm 903 years old and I'm the man who is gonna save your lives and all 6 billion people on the planet below. You got a problem with that?"

Doctor Who is a long running British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. It started in 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious, humanoid alien known as the Doctor who travels through time and space in his spacecraft, the TARDIS (an acronym for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space), which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s British police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, faces a variety of foes and rights wrongs.
Dr Who is a British Instituion. Generations of kids have grown up watching this program behind sofas. I was one of them! Even now the concept of Daleks is still scary!...The grotesque but self proclaimed Master Race of the Universe with their battle cry "Exterminate Exterminate" to all other lifeforms. They were the uber-nazies!

I love Dr Who :-)

He fights Tyranny and Oppression all over time and space.

And he is very compassionate.

Even when his arch evil enemy The Master was sentenced to Eternal Torment, he intervened to rescue him from such punishment.

The Doctor is a Timelord and has the ability to Regenerate his body when it is too old or has been injured or damaged. However at each "Regeneration" all the cells in the body are jumbled up and the Doctor acquires new features and new character quirks.

As a result of this many actors have been able to play the Doctor and still retain the essential "Doctor" in the series.

The Doctor has been played by many actors in the past. Total of 11 so far. And I have loved every incaranations of the Doctor (except one - Colin Baker's Doctor).

I have seen every episodes from all the available Dr Who series! And I enjoyed it all.

My favourite Dr however is still Tomb Baker :-)

He is witty and funny and mad in a likeable way :-)

The new Doctor, the Eleventh Doctor in the line is played by Matt Smith.

I have just seen the first episode and he looks very interesting and Amy Pond too!

I watched Dr. Who a few times when Tom Baker was the good doctor. He was funny. There was something very likable and free-spirited about him.

Yes. Very much. The new doctor also seems to have these qualities. I will have to wait and see how he develops in the series :-)

I remember watching the very first Dr Who, and spending alot of time behind the sofa too.

It was the cybermen who gave me nightmares.

I also liked Peter Davison whom I remembered from the "All 'Creatures Great and Small" series. That's one I'd like to own. Anyway, I thought he did a good job, too.

It was the Daleks and Davros that game me nightmares.

And yes Peter Davidson was good. I think Colin Baker's doctor was quite terrible.
