Defining Crazy

As we all know, I LOVE irony, and with that, I am quite aware of my own ironic moments and am just as capable of laughing at my own irony as I am at laughing at that of other people. Today I was stricken with a bit of amusement by one of my personally little ironies.

I was going out for my usual walk, and I had my ipod with me as I always jam to my music when I walk.

Along my walk I have go past this school, actually I pass a total of three different schools when I go out walking, and in front of the first school there was this guy out cutting weeds and when he saw me he started trying to talk to me, which I found for one thing quite annoying because I had to take my head phones out to see what the heck he wanted, and I was not in the least bit interested in any sort of social interaction, and I presumed he was obviously just a total weirdo because in my world any random stranger who tries to talk to me in public is obviously some sort of weirdo or pervert because who else is going to go around trying to talk to strangers for no good reason?

I get away from him as quickly as I can, and what most people would consider being "nice" or "friendly" I conclude to be a sure sign that he is obviously some sort of psychopath that probably has bodies stashed in his basement, this conclusion being deduced from his wish to tell me that it was a nice day for a walk.

I continue on my way again, and perhaps maybe 15 or so feet from this encounter I happen to spot a large rolly poly or sow bug walking across the sidewalk and quite naturally I stop to talk to it of course, because that is just what I do.

So in my world people who try to engage strangers in conversation are clearly psychotic and should be locked in a padded room with a strait jacket because they are an obvious danger to society, but stopping to talk to random insects on the other hand is perfectly acceptable behavior.

While I was standing there wishing good day to a bug crawling across the side walk I was struck with the amusement of the situation that I had just fled in mortal terror of my life from a human being who was trying to offer me a good day greeting.
