Foxtrot's Theories

I don't know what it is.

I’m confusing myself,
I don’t know what it is.
Don’t ask for any answers,
You won’t find any here.

In my mind, a whirlpool,
Tied in the middle of a knot.
I know I can’t explain it,
Don’t make me want to try.

You’re not the only one,
I’m sure you know that.
It’s in the dark for all of us,
A puddle, in the sand.

The truth, it escapes me,
Like a slippery question.
And it’ll always be there,
But I don’t know what it is.

Oh, I get it... I think

It's about your constant quest for the truth, and once you are about to grab it, it sinks down a puddle in the sand. It's similar to Coleridge's Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner ... the part that says "...sinks down like lead into the sea..." (of course that poem tells another story, but in the end, it's also about the quest for the truth, something quite unreachable by the way). So in this case it could be defined as "... sinks down like lead into the puddle in the sand"... maybe... just a thought

I'm thinking that maybe the only truth that can be found is the quest for it... dang... I'm thinking again

Uh... Yes, Maxi. Of course that is what I was trying to say...
I know what you mean though. I haven't read the Ancient Mariner. I will. I guess... Yea... Looking for truth. Better than looking for fake things.
See, I like it when people make sense of it for me. So it is pretty good-ish.

The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner is a beautiful poem, though as it is a narrative it's a bit long. It takes some reading time
