I thought that a lot of descriptive work went into this novel and was well used in perfectly explaining the situation at hand. Many believe that it has too much, but they probably would not understand much of the later situations to come without the descriptions. I believe that the scientific description involved in Verne's novels is what made his them so great. In this book his does this many times with great detail, like explaining how one could make some nitro-glycerin with their available technology. Verne shows this quality especially in this novel but also in many other of his novels. This novel was a good one for me and should be for anyone wanting to put the time of reading into it.

PS MARBURG, captain Nemo was a Indian, SEPOY.(read 20,000 leagues under the sea)

nitro-glycerine
