I just finished Anna Karenina today. At first I thought well it is a Tolstoy and it must be very daunting and a bit boring but I will try it anyway. On the contrary! It is the most alive, the most meaningful, and beautiful peace of not just art but life that I have ever read. I am sure it will stick with me all of my life, and the lessons, the wisdom, the greatness of this novel I shall never forget. I am asking anyone who has not read this to do so. I have read a lot of books, classics, new releases, all types. And none that I have read has so well depicted the beauty of life. It leave a lasting impression on the reader, and if its the length you wonder about -- like I who thought how can this be only about a few people, at this length and still be interesting?- in my opinion it wasn't long enough. A great classic, not just for literature but for life. There is so much more to say about this novel that can't be expressed in words, but can only be experienced by reading this amazing classic.
