Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is an excellent, fabulous story ,and it's not too long, I read it in two or three hours. I've read all the other's comments,I know some say the English is too hard and 300 years old,and the tale is not frightning, but I can't agree,I read the words easily enough and found them soothing and pleasant, they flow nicely. As for the fright factor the story ain't spooky like an obvious ghost story, but it's very frightning because of the subtle horror and mystery of who Mr.Hyde is,where he came from, and how he got that way.Total suspense til the BIG finale at the end of the book,Where Dr. Jekyll explains that he made and ate a chemical that transfromed him into his other evil, brutal self, releasing him from his goody-two shoes Dr.Jekyll yet not polluting that good part of himself and all his decent acheivements and good social aquaintances.True horror for me sets in when Dr.Jekyll explains that he automatically starts to turn in to Evil Hyde without even drinking the potion and he has to take the potion all day to remain his good Dr.self.Looks like he will be forced to be evil, puny Hyde whether he wants to or not. GREAT BOOK!
