I am a high school student and here's my story. All seniors have to do a book talk (you read the book summarize it in 5 mins and present visuals while dressed professionally). I admit I saw the movie first and I was just blown away. I thought it was one of those movies where it's just like "oh ok i'll watch it, I don't have anything else to do." But from start to finish I was glued in my seat, I didn't even get up to use the restroom!!! So, I decided to ask my library if they had the book and just my luck they had just bought it to add to their collection that very day. So I started reading and I was amazed at all the intricate details that they provided to the readers. It's like you were there and wanted to speak out for Edmond Dantes. When he became the Count of Monte-Cristo it was something so powerful about him that just made my heart pound. After reading this book I was so excited and wanted to spread the word and get people interested. I had movie night with a bunch of friends and they all enjoyed themselves. I aced the book talk, and now we are currently doing research papers for the book we used. Im still thrilled.
