Away with abridged versions!<br><br>Read the entire story and you will appreciate the art of fine writing. This story is very dear to me. I first read an abridged version and was left wanting more. Then I discovered the full length version which I just completed today (4/23/03). Editors seem to think they know what the public wants. They are clueless. They should not make decisions as they do regarding classic literature. Dumas was a master at telling a story. <br><br>The movie with Gerard Depardieu is the closest to the book. I would love to see the entire book word for word, cover to cover in film.
