I thoroughly enjoyed "Emma". It is written about what the author knew. Some of these critiques are idiotic. At this time the books really didn't have much action except perhaps people dying. The one about the movie being good, but the book not is just an example of how ignorant some people can be. The movie was just about exactly like the book. The best writer is one who writes what they know. In the 1800's woman knew courting and visiting. Also about Emma's "matchmaking plot" for the Weston's baby, it was just supposed to be a little humor at the end. At this time in our world we over anylize everything and are desynsitized and overstimulated by so much, that when you read something that is about real life, even though it is 200 years ago, so many think its not interesting, but the most interesting things in our life should be REAL LIFE>
