I hate this book. I studied it, and tried so hard to understand it and be able to really get inside the book. I ended up feeling like Winston while he was being tortured by O'Brian. This book makes you feel helpless and confused yet enraged at the same time. It sucks. I wish I'd never read it. I wonder if anyone who read this book promptly went insane afterward. Thats how I feel. I guess thats what Old Orwell was going for, so I guess he succeeded. What sucks is that this book is probably going to be one that sticks with me. Picture a hand pumping vinager into my mouth FOREVER, and those will be my thoughts of this book FOREVER. I did think it was funny when O'Brian dumped the picture he said never existed into the hole and Winston said, "it did exist, you remember it," and O'brian said "I don't remember it". I thought Winston should've said, "Remember what?" and make O'Brian get all pissed off. "You know darn well what it is that I don't remember! Now, quit trying to mess with me! Don't make me turn this dial again, Winston.
