My favourite book, the issues raised in it are very true today. Orwell's book is excelent although I would argue with some of the things he said, for instance, that the party took years to fix things, what would happen if a telescreen was broken? And the fact that he meant O'Brian in the Ministry building would not be possible because there would be hundreds of telescreens there. Looking at the three states I think Eastasia would be easily crushed when Oceana and Eurasia were allied. Also I do not think it would be possible that people would not realises that they had changed state that they were at war with the day after it changed. They may forgot in a few months with good mental changing but overnight would be inpossible. I wish George Orwell had lived for longer yet I think the disease he had at the end of his life really made the book what it is, and without it I doubt the book would be so depressing and I doubt that today many people would read it.
