I have just finished reading 1984 and i honestly can't get it off my mind. I'm only 14 and so have not really had time to appareciate much other complex literature but by golly. The way Orwell portraid Julia and Winston was incredible, i really felt that he put something of himself into their affair and love for eachother. I loved (i mean i thought it was clever) the idea of perpetual war to drain resources and i also found the O'Brien twist quite interesting aswell. But my overall favourite part was the ending, because it has a clear and simple message, which was essentially, when living in a troubled world where the masses accept, become one of the masses. When Winston loved Big Brother i believe that he could not have really been happier and raising children you knew would betray you was also an obvious thing to make you proud. I always think it's a good idea to pull the wool over your eyes, and this book is the only one that has expressed this.
