I read 1984 back in high school, and was required to do a book report (with illustrations). I've always had a talent for drawing, and my teacher knew this. If you'd like, check my site: http://paultarsenault.cjb.net

I really enjoyed the book, and it's glimpse into a horror of existence. The ideas and technologies of controlling aren't far from the 'telecreen' (almost a pc with webcam/tv) and thought police and all. I'd guess if you picture grey people with a dusty old run down place.. streets looking as old as their faces.. and not a thing to smile about, for fear of your face cracking! Cold steel, lifeless buildings, as much so as the zombies who walk by them or work within them. So many images come to mind, and some of it seems to close to 'this could be', it is a bit scary. George Orwell also wrote Animal Farm, and is well worth the read.

He was quite an author, and those books will live on in many a library for years to come.
