It has been al ong time since, I have read George Orwell's 1984. however, to this day I still think of it quite regularily. It is facinating, shocking, and scary. I personally do not think society will ever become like what is seen in the book. I think it is a concern, the influence of the government has on our lives. In my opinion revolutions and too many people would be willing to fight for their freedom. Even the possibility of such control over us as people would lead us to revoly - as has happened in the past, with bad leaders. My freedom especially my thoughts are something which i value quite strongly and even the thoughts that someone could violate them is scary to me. I think society will only survive if the majority of people are satisfied in that society. We are happy in our Western society, it suits us, our beliefs, our freedom of thoughts, are acknowalaged even welcomed in most surcumstances. The fact that i am writing here is proof that I am free. I can critize or praise whoever I like, that is our society and we are happy with it. I think only societies that we are happy with on the whole will survive and flourish.
