You have been missing the news for the last couple of years, if you honestly believe you live in a country the is nothing like Oceania. Do you need to have it all spelled out for you? Do you need everything explain in such a simplistic fashion before you see what's going on around you?

I find it interesting that the majority of the comment submitted on this site reflect the view of right-wing conspiricisits. Do you think you've taken the message of the book a little too seriously? Orwell wrote against totalitarianism, not democracy and the free market. Freedom is the ability to do whatever you want as long as it injures no one else. Captivity is being injured without reason or recourse. I find that I am abundantly free in the United States, even more so when compared to the myraid other countries. God bless America!!
