Yeah.... if you believe what he just said.... go here. http://www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~kinho/youare.swf<br><br>Bush stands for smaller government. Just be glad that for the next couple years, you will retain the right to be an idiot.

Get a life, and an education, maybe instead of knocking the Bush admin., you should take a look around. Maybe you'll see that you have no idea what you're talking about, and begin to realize how hypocritical comments like yours are. If you are American, i'm ashamed to be called an American if you are an example of one.

Original Comment:<br>This is exactly what reminded me of Orwell's book and that is what made me look it up now. Erna

Ignorant's comment brought me up short, even though he admitted to his condition. I thought anyone responding on this site would be a person who could think logically, recognize the similarities in our current real world situations to our documented past and/or a speculative future such as postulated by Orwell, and comment thoughtfully. Instead, there was name-calling and hostility. Imagine, after 67 years of life, I continue to hope to see reason and logic operating once in awhile. Am I naive or what?

I would like to address the anonymous comment from 2/6/03 "Bush stands for smaller government. Just be glad that for the next couple years, you will retain the right to be an idiot."<br>I completely understand that Bush says he's for smaller government, as well as every other republican out there. and I would love to see out government get smaller, but it has grown in both employees(not including defense) and budget EVERY year no matter who the president is, or who has control of congress. If the republicans could for one time reduce the total size of government either by # of employees(non defense) and PLEASE the total budget, I would sign up as a republican right now instead of remaining an independent.<br><br>As for Ted Long I have no idea what he's talking about other than it's in defense of the Bush administration. I don't understand what is hypocritical about Raible's opinion, it seems pretty consistent throughout I thought. I wonder if you could elaborate if you stop in again. And since when it is unamerican to criticize a president. Somehow I think you had/have some nasty things to say about Clinton. Hope to talk to you soon

I can't believe the name calling I have read in people's comments. Haven't we learned from 1984 that we should feel blessed to posess the right to think for ourselves. The one great thing about America is freedom of speech. People do indeed have the right to their own opinions and in our wonderful country, they have the right to voice these opinions without consequence.

I think Ted hasn't learned much from his reading of 1984 (if he did actually read it).

In some ways she was far more acute than Winston, and far less susceptible to Party propaganda. Once when he happened in some connexion to mention the war against Eurasia, she startled him by saying casually that in her opinion the war was not happening. The rocket bombs which fell daily on London were probably fired by the Government of Oceania itself, 'just to keep people frightened'.<br><br><br> In chapter 13 when Julia states that the Gov. of Oceania were probably the ones firing the bombs "just to keep people frightened." reminds me of the Bush Admin. in 2002 to justify it "War Against the World." <br>
