Read 1984, tell your friends, your family to read it. This is my second favorite book ever. At 17, I doubt I've read more than 20 books, but this one is special. Orwell's masterpiece is chilling and frightening, in a way I think our Big Brother is greater, because he doesn't let us know he exists. But enough of the pessimisn, I seriously doubt our government will ever get to that point. Why? Because as Steinbeck pointed out, men always fight back. As long as hope and bravery exist, men will never let the government oppress a majority. By the way, read my favorite book if you haven't, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, youll love the book and R.P. McMurphy; the greatest hero in the history of literature.
