it is in my nature
to make believe
I am braver then the moon invader
like the stars when they align
to conquer the spark
that makes them look so far
close and apart
to reach them
is to release the dark

it is in my nature to
speak in words
to convince myself it is
the perfect sound that could almost
sing in a Pavarotti falsetto
birds from around the globe would
pirouette and spin
the world would lift
and a pin would drop in silhouette and stops

but it is not in my nature
to entertain adventure
without a thought that it may
turn out to be fraught
weakness for any day to capture
is not my sort
so I leave it to behold until
I can be sure a little fun
is happy to be shone and life is won.
