Say if I am writing jokes or other types of writing can I use the name Freddy Krueger in a joke or Dracula? Could I make a joke about Dracula and publish it with a copyright office? Or can I not use brand names? How does that work with trademarks. Though I am not sure if there are even trademarks for Freddy Kreuger or Dracula. Could I get sued for using those terms?
