It's my responsibility to be strong.
I must bear the pain for those I love.
Shield them from the searing truth.
It's not easy, holding that shield up, ya know?
Sort of like silence, but in a perpetual state of apathy.
I know I can't hold their shield forever.
I cant show my fatigue.
So when it falls, I won't be ready.
When I collapse from the weight, if it shatters in my hands
Or god forbid they tear it from me
I would lose everything I hold dear.
