View Full Version : Eye of the Storm

Shadowlight

The sky became broken
and the Earth began to quake.
Tethered for an instant
lightning shared between them
Heaven and Earth.

You could see,
so easily,
that which stone was supposed to keep.
And eyes widened, in that instant,
as old stone fell,
crumbling at my feet.

How could I ever forget that feeling,
fire coursing through my blood?
It forever split me asunder,
The moment light became a flood.
Setting free
all that was hidden inside of me;
And now I tremble,
no Earth, no Heaven,
unable to stand,
unable to breathe.

It's as if hanging onto a cliff side,
time slowly wearing me down.
And if I were to fall to the riptide,
do you believe I wouldn't drown?
Yet, I am learning to let go
fingers find themselves lifting, one by one,
And when I go under,
God, please hold me under.
For what was done, must be undone.

Let the waves crash me asunder.
Let time smooth me down.
Let water erode me.
Lord, find me there once I drown.

From dust, to stone, to fresh sand;
mold me as you would new clay.
Made better, by your hands,
Lord, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Because, as of now, he has his hold,
a hold I cant seem to escape.
Even as the lungs collapse and fingers bleed
Im still holding onto the memory,
The lightning within his gaze.
