There is a rage in all of us deep down
Something so primal it can tear through, sometimes.
We can repress it.
Swallow it, and refuse to give in.
It will always show, never to kneel before us
through all our sophistication and perceived domination
It will rear its beastly teeth.
Overcome the best of us.
In one fleeting moment, we will regress to a point of

Animosity

Deep down, we live for it.

I liked this, darth. I think you've got something there.

This one could use a little more detail and a little less abstraction (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?79868-Be-Afraid-Be-Very-Afraid). "Beastly teeth" is the only image and not all that original. Cf. William Carlos Williams: "No ideas except in things." There are exceptions, of course, such as "Paradiso," the 2002 poem by Kenneth Koch. Then again, neither one of us is Kenneth Koch.
