George Orwell cleverly wrote Animal Farm based on the ideas of Communism and what happened during that time. He portrays the character son Animal Farm based on real people for example Napoleon represents Stalin. The book is an allegory, which is clearly satirising Communism. Orwell uses animals to represent human behaviour because a fable allows you to look at the activities of humans in a different light and be critical of their actions without actually offending anyone because after all it is only a fairytale.
