The words self-consciousness which we all seem to take for granted appears to mean that we are actually conscious of our-self, this to me is utter nonsense and does not resonate with reality as i percieve it to be, what we really mean is that we are actually personality conscious, or ego conscious, it is utter folly to imagine that you could actually be self conscious, there are only a handful of humans upon this planet called Earth that have that level of consciousness perception that they fully know and realize their true identity, that being the SELF, and that there is only one SELF within this universe. ninty nine point nine nine nine per cent of humanity does not know what the SELF actually is, the words self consciosness being applied to mankind in general in a total misnomer, in my perception, that is, i feel the correct term or terms that are much more appropriate are, ego conscious, or personality conscious.

Warmest regards Michael.

Mere semantics.

You are absolutely correct there desiresjab, it could well be mere semantics, and thank you for your input here, however, if all we actually are is a physical body and that is the sum total of our existance, then yes you are right it would be mere semantics, as self would be the BODY of physical form, I however see this very differently, and see what we may call the self, as being the immortal spirit that dwells within its vehicle the physical body, and that means to me that a mere handful of us are actually consciously conscious of being a reallized SELF or SOUL while still in the physical form. So that when we say we are self conscious, we are really meaning that we are ego conscious, or personality conscious, the vast majority of mankind is completely ignorant of the reality of their own immortal self.

Warmest regards Michael.
