Skip through the lane
Roar like a dandelion
Blow wishes into the wind.
Here they come
That merry band
It's all just cricket in the field
We fought the good fight
With sticks, stones
Conkers and string.
Now we can sing
I'm the king of the castle
There is no dirty rascal
Because on this day in spring
We all win

Hi, Delta,
Enjoyed your poem. Whoever the "dirty rascal" may be, I´m glad he has been conquered.

This is a beautiful poem, Delta, and technically magnificent. What I really liked was the implicit sadness that hangs between the title and the verses. Somethings just can't be said out loud. A few can still be heard. Thanks.

Seems a happy poem to me. Inspired by your trip back to your homeland I guess. Good to see you posting again. JB
