I can hear a familiar tune
It’s The Eagles or The Byrds
Or something.
I can hear birds
When there are none
And see dusk when it’s the dawn
And I see people’s mouths going
Up and down up and down
And he said and she said
And the dying who don’t know what
To do instead
Kids who don’t yet know
And those who can’t forget
I can see people playing their parts
Being the people
And the part they got
And delivering the lines.
Heroes unravelled
Their tic a tape
Lifeless
On the floor.
It’s the Eagles.

Loved the poem! I didn't see how the last line fit, "Its the Eagles"?

Thank you. Tony the last line refers back to the second line. Cyclical.
