a milky winter's day
the whole world feels like foundering
we're swimming, pliant cattle in a ford,
chewing the cud,
which almost looks as if we
argued with each other

blurry buildings float by
in the doubtful distance,
suddenly, a ray of pale remembrance
strikes me,
and I think at last
I understood a thing or two

but then three weeping willows,
drowning in the fog,
wave their lank branches
like a last good-bye,
and I discover that
I do not even know

the question

I'm loving the imagery here.
Lovely poem.

Great writing Dieter. Particularly appreciated the link from two to three. I don’t read much anymore but glad I read this
