Crossing Bridges

[Shadowlight]

Waking prepared,
before the dawn
I find myself gone searching.
For a future,
with a past far behind,
by a bridge's favorable merging.
To the sunrise I heave a sigh,
within my sight a city.
“Be that where my destiny lie?”
I carry on
without you with me.
My doubt proves
stronger than my heart,
for my feet often walk
in misdirection.
Crossing the bridge my fear recharged.
My resolve duly rejected.

Now…

I must make the decision on my own
by the strength of my own determination.

Forwards, fate unknown, or
backwards across the bridge
to my familiar home,

my absence still of yet undetected.
