The two minutes of hate is essentially when someone goes on the screen and talks about freedoms like speech are bad and how people are letting down the revolution. This is bad because the people are brought up in a surveyed society where you don't have much rights and they think that those rights are bad. While the people are yelling at the screen Winston starts to disagree but finds it had not to participate. This happens again when the people are chanting B-B over and over. Winston in fact finds it quite scary but yet again finds it hard not to participate. Are there more people like this? If they knew that there was more people what would happen? Or this could be a way that Big brother keeps them from coming together?

Since the telescreens watch the people while the two minutes hate is occurring, they can see anyone who may or may not show rebellious tendencies, and vaporize them before they become a problem for Big Brother. As well, even if those who weren't caught noticed other like-minded individuals, it would be incredibly difficult to set up arrangements to conspire against the government because of the constant surveillance of Party members.

During the two minutes hate Winston also wonders if there's anyone else feels how he does but realizes that he may never find out. Between the telescreens always watching and the fear of being accused of thought crime he cant ask anyone if they are also against B-B. I think that even if a group of people were against B-B and communicating with each other, the fear of punishment has been so drilled into them that they still wouldn't do much.
