Please Help Me, I'm searching a novel!!!

Hi dears,
I'm looking for a novel from my childhood. In fact, i have just one sentence and one behaviour of characters in my mind. In this novel, there was an barbershop and somebody were shaving the dog in front of the barbershop. The book says words like that is "his(dog) head like plowed fields..." yes, like this. I didn't find it again and i'm searching it like a crazy. Anybody knows it??? Thanks..

Hi, first of all, thanks for your effort :)

There is a clue but it's useful or not, i don't know because it gives us very little information. The clue is that this novel had yellow cover, as far as i remember.

There is just not enough information to trace a book with. No title, no author, its a hopeless task, I'm afraid.
