I believe that faith is part of the human generic but it is not necessarily about god.
what has faith to do with god
if god is one and faith is many?
are you religious and/ore are you likely to come off religion?

I consider myself "panentheistic". The one and many problem is a mystery. We wouldn't be here without the many and yet we are not isolated individuals.

Last night we saw a one-hour programme on (Axess TV) about the Maya and their time-reckoning system. I would like to see it again, as it seems to be very interesting, but needs more study.

I am also drawn to inspiring architecture, and some 30 years ago decided to become a Friend of Exeter Cathedral. I learned Transcendental Meditation in the late 1960s and still practice it daily. It is a private practice.

Faith, religion, God, religiousity are different things; although they sometimes come together. Faith is a belief in something regardless of the relevant evidence. There is organized religion and personal religion, and it is about beliefs regarding the Gods. Religousity is the expressionn of formal religion, whether one believes it, or not.
The Gods are a different matter. Some people are acquainted with the many that exist, while others have never met any, and some have restricted themselves to just one God. It can become very complicated.
Personally, I am an old-fashioned polytheist, and most people who are familiar with the Bible should have similar beliefs.
But I agree that humans seem to have an innate desire to believe some things just to believe them, without any evidence or reason to believe those things, and that is not restricted to religious beliefs.

It is a mantra that is silently repeated.
