Sleeping bag in the headlights
Body in the bag
Bearded shaking cold
Cardboard comfort
Nose drips
Tobacco dirty fingers
Pointed at those that have.
Triangle sandwich
P iss in pants
Pavement a ss
Useless dick
Coffee to warm fingers
Raindrops in littered puddles
Listening to sirens
And passing conversations
Meaningless.

Wiser.

Honestly, I wasn't crazy about the last line, it felt a bit apologetic; though this poem as a whole reminded me of Don McCullin's 'Homeless Irishman' portrait
