A tiny piece of my past
that makes my face flush red
just to recall it silently.
An anecdote I don’t recount,
nor will I ever wish to.
You, my accomplice
, just a name to me now
in a list of friends
on my laptop’s screen.
Perhaps you wouldn’t remember,
if I saw you today
in the flesh;
Though there’s always the risk
that you might.

This is a down-to-earth reflection on those social media like Facebook and Twitter, or like the one I have on LinkedIn. I wouldn't recognise most of my "friends" either, and have often wondered why I bother.

I can't seem to access your wordpress blog either...or it is empty...

Thanks for your thoughts Dreamwoven. I'm not sure why my wordpress wasn't working when you landed on it - it isn't the most visually exciting of landing pages, but there should be links to many different poems and ramblings of mine there! Best wishes, Jonathan:)

Thanks for that reply, Jonathan. Th e blog is divided into two parts, on short stories and poems. I tried again today, but both topics seem blank.

Well suddenly there is a post in both parts. Thank you, nice work.

This poem makes me curious about what it was the 'accomplices' did :)
