Hey,

I'm a new member, so feel free to point out any silly faux pas.

Short version: Does anyone know when sonett 1 and conzone 129 from Petrarca was written, or where to find this?

Long version: I'm doing a short presentation on the contrasts between Francesco Petrarca's sonett 1 and canzone 129 soon, and I'm struggling to find out when they were written. Normally this wouldn't be odd for poems written hundreds of years ago, but I've also read that he timestamped his poetry fairly well, but I can't find this. I know that sonett 1 was one of the very last works in Il Canzoniere, but I can't find much on canzone 129. Does anyone know any good resources where this information can be acquired?

Thank you :)

Thanks a lot for answering! This looks like a great resource for knowledge on Petrarca, but unfortunately I'm not sure if I'm able to get anything out of it. It's a bit too extensive, and I'm a bit too unacademic. Perhaps the information I'm looking for is either really hard to get to, or not available at all? But anyway, the answer is much appreciated. :)
