Wuthering Heights is one of the best works of liturature I've ever read. Normally i'm into darker themes in reading, and one of my favorite authors is Anne Rice. With Wuther Heights, I found that my taste for darkness was satisfied just as well. plenty of death, sadness, revenge and all around agony for my fellow angst lovers. the book is well written, the story flows beautifully and i didn't find it boring at all.
for those who do find it boring, i suggest seeing the movie "Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights" (1992 version) before reading the book. this movie does a fairly good job of sticking to the story line, using actual dialogue from the text during the majority of the movie. I watched the movie one morning and fell in love with the story, got it from the library that afternoon, and was done with it three days later. Seeing the movie first may spark your interest if you think it's on the boring side.
the only thing i didn't like about this book was Joseph's dialogue. It was hard to understand at first, and i often had to resort to saying it outloud before i understood it. other than that, it's an amazing story!!!
