I've recently experienced the first successes of my writing career. I wrote a novel an editor loved enough to edit at a dollar a page and recently published my first short story in an online magazine. As a result of having finally achieved some validation, I find myself wanting to 'give back' to the people and groups that helped me along the way. I owe the short story sharing forum here my sincerest thanks.
I started posting here in 2009 as a total noob writing with lots of passion and zero structure. The critique/encouragement of users like Hillwalker, Aunt Shecky, Steven Hunley, Hawkman and countless others were instrumental in helping me grow as a writer. You kind-hearted folks all gave hours of your lives to edit my work free of charge and your honest, blunt feedback helped me understand I wasn't as good as I thought. Understanding you need to improve is the first step to improving.
I plan to critique some stories here every once in awhile as a way of giving back. Look forward to seeing you around.
