Oak trees in Florida have yearly green leaves

green leaves and gray hanging moss

Upon further examination bits of rusted copper green hang from the moss

The bark extrudes out casting it’s own shadow

Each piece has it’s own unique characteristic

splashes of green, brown, grey

Rough texture all different yet the same

Yet inside lays a solid foundation

A strong wood and a famous one

Swaying palm trees and statued Oaks

A typical Florida winter finds both in health

Handsome of a look and picturesque

Two trees juxtaposed

One tropical one continental

Both thriving and living different lives

Sometimes we go to Miami Beach or Disney World for the colder parts of Chicago's winter if we can get time off to do so. The palm trees are an obviously noticeable tree, very different from what one sees in Chicago. The other trees look similar but strange if one looks at their leaves closely.
