A tree, in time, will lose it leaves and become bare, but God is like a never ending well that nurtures you so you do not become bare in your faith. In life we can become stagnant, stuck in a spot we hope and pray would pass. We all want to feel good. Often we don’t. If you chose to dwell on what's bad, you will miss your blessing.
In comparison, say you buy a new car. This car has many problems, leaving you frustrated to the point in which you end up praying to God about the complications. There is a point God tries to make with our problems and mistakes. The car with the problems was used to bring you closer to God through your difficulty. Would you believe me if I said it could take a thousand sleepless nights only to bring you closer to God? We may not always understand or believe in the ways God tries to reach us, but if you keep your peace, you shall see the problems melt away.
Again, in comparison, the car you bought is more like a blessing than a burden, but if you only see the problems it created, you will stay angry as if the universe is against you leaving the same old question, why me? I will tell you. When you are tested in life, many of the times we may not even know when we are being tested.
If you obey God and trust Him with your difficulties, He will bring you out of the problem and bless you even more. In comparison again, the car you bought was eventually fixed for free by a family member. You sell the car and are able to buy another that was better than the first. You will realize if you don’t lose your peace over a trial in life, God will bless you even more.
Say you never saw the blessing with the car. You get frustrated and have to get car fixed by a mechanic which costs a fortune and sell it for less than it should leaving you with another headache. It's not impossible to keep your peace. Often it's hard, but God doesn’t see us like a score table where we were successful here and not there. As long as you try, you will be a success. God sees us much more different than you would yourself. If you fall a dozen times trying to keep your peace, just know your not perfect and realize that God knows this. Keep trying.
It sounds strange. Thanking God for your problems. I mean really? How irrational does that sound. I thought I was suppose to only pray for the good things. This is a mistake we often make. God doesn’t just rest in the rational logic that we do sometimes. He can be simple to understand or a mystery.
Thanking God for problems seems odd. Think of problems in life as a disguised blessing. Picture a bodybuilder. Pretty strong right? How did they get those huge muscles? They worked out their bodies until they became strong. Likewise, when we go through problems in life, see the problem as a way to work out your faith and trust muscles. Problems provide many ways and opportunities to grow into a Godly way in life. So why thank God for the problems? Do bodybuilders curse the heavyweights they use to get strong? No. Do we curse the God that loves us and disciplines us? Sometimes. By thanking God for "problems", we can remember that he is using events and circumstances that we may not like at times to create a better you. Like coal that is compacted and eventually made into diamonds, we too are being made into diamonds throughout life.
Whoever made the lie that being a Christian is boring? My friends, when I tell you that God is for you and not against you, would you believe me? What does that mean? God is a pleasurable God as well. We often think of Him like a judge standing over you with a mallet, ready to tell you what your doing wrong. This could not be further than the truth. God wants you to be happy. I mean why not? He loves you as much. When it's hard to smile, just know that you’ve been made for a purpose. You are the clay and He is the potter. When he made you, he stood back and marveled at your beauty. You don’t need to be anything but yourself to please God. Have fun in life. Think of your life as a short, but brilliant light. You would want to do as much as possible before the flame dies down. Try something new. It could be a new book, food, hobby, class, or something else. It doesn’t need to be huge. Just put Jesus at your focal point and pray to help you find enjoyable things that is God's will to be done. Remember, life can be fun. Just smile.
