I honestly do not see what all the fuss is about. Everyone praises WH as "the greatest love story every written," but I cannot find one instance of true love within it. Catherine has a girlish crush on Heathcliff, and marries Edgar for his money. Heathcliff is obsessed with Catherine and marries Isabella only for revenge. Edgar only likes Catherine because she is spirited and pretty. Cathy (the younger) pities Linton, nothing more, and Linton only wants someone who won't constantly abuse him all the time. As for Cathy and Hareton - that may be the closest the book ever gets to love, but it still seems to lack real depth.
