In song, oh Muse, relay the tale, the woes of Lovers past
The tune by which they must have toiled, the ink by which they last
The frenzied dance, by day I saw, but hinted at this lore
In visions show so I will know forgotten Loves of yore:

“Athena’s precious city hides a man of great acclaim
A man who, taught by Ignorance, had found The Form of Love”

Amorous messenger free of the law’s reach; twisting and turning in
Glorious maelstrom! Such was the cry of the six who had gathered to
Speak of the god, and imbibe of the strong wine. Thus said the five of them:
‘Loving is youthfulness!’ ‘Loving is harmony!’ ‘Love is maturity!’
‘Loving is oneness!’ ‘Love is nobility!’ So they orated. But
Ignorance, wisest of all of them, spoke thus: ‘Love is to ponder the
Ocean of beauty that lies within bodies, and all of existence. In
Knowing the Beautiful, Love blooms.’ Spoken conclusively: ‘Learn well.’

“The poet’s art had banished him, Augustus did demand
The Art of Love he knew so well had torn him from his land”

Anyone ignorant, dealing in Love’s grand parlor trick, please now
Read of this poem, and hence, lord over Cupid unbowed
Patience is paramount; Ladies, you know of this: Men can be most shrill
Men are of armaments hard, stiffened but tamable still
Guile is the weapon that, Men, you should utilize, all for the sure end
See if the cavern is moist, enter be Lover or friend
‘Master of Loving, departure has drawn nigh.’ Truly it now seems
Any be ignorant, know: Love be a cruel little scheme

“To west from isle of Albion, to north from Frankish shores
Was born the man who said: ‘Not one, but Love is truly Four”

I thought at first, in blanking verse, I might now know my way
But being here, it is quite clear, confusion holds its sway
Erotic Love, that greedy dove, is not the holy writ
I find that Friends, stuck till the end, have greater Love than it
Familial lines, the Love that binds, is sweet until it sours
Agape, true, must but act through, the Loves it makes to flower

The visions fade, I must commend the Muse by which I work
Who taught in patience Love’s design, the places where it lurks
Be not the end, I know this now, the quest has just begun
I seek and search, in boldness true, by rays of golden sun

I don´t quite know, what to make of it, it seems a very sophisticated experiment to find your poetic voice and your poetic language.

For me the most significant verses are:
"I thought at first, in blanking verse, I might now know my way
But being here, it is quite clear, confusion holds its sway"

But I guess that it is how it all starts and you evoque powerful masters.
Congrats for your courage!

I hope some one more versed in poetry than me chimes it.
