Personally, I loved this book. I read it for fun when I was 15, and found it different from other "classics". There is no apparent moral, and I felt like every character got exactly what they deserved. I love the timelessness of the obsession between Heathcliff and Cathy, and the fact that they now haunt the moors together. Heathcliff seemed like the hero character at first, but then turned into a sort of villian- once again, different from the usual. I've read it through many times now, and just opened to the good bits a lot too- I recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind not sympathizing with the characters too much. I loved every bit except the bits with Joseph- he always seemed tedious- and I also am not usually a sappy romance person- It definitely deserves "classic" status.
