The Shakespeare plays and the U.S. elction

We've seen in Forbes magazine that Donald Trump is like the character Falstaff. Professor Greenblatt, in the New York Times, suggested that Trump is a sociopath like Shakespeare's Richard the third. I don't think we know yet, for Trump is also like Hamlet(antic disposition) and Kate from THE TAMING OF THE SHREW(the musical version would be titled DON'T KISS ME DONALD). We have what some call a representative democracy for government now instead of a monarchy. So, Mr. Trump will not be be free to perform badly. Therefore, I think Trump's campaign has been interesting(see my notes in the Shakespeare section).

That shows all too well that not much has changed in the last several hundred of years. I'm afraid to say, several thousand of years... Cavemen/women with smartphones... ;)

Trump might have certain Falstaffian characteristics, but Clinton is pure Lady Macbeth.

This may be unfair to Mrs Clinton, but a better analogy might be Volumnia in Coriolanus - a hawkish matriarch with relations highly placed in the political sphere.

Falstaff - a pathetic old man totally inappropriate to advise a potential head of state.
