Wuthering Heights is a book full of hatred and revenge, yes. But what makes it beautiful to many people is the passion of Heathcliff's love for Cathy, as well as the romantic backdrop of the moors. Such passion as Heathcliff and Cathy shared is not realistic, maybe, but how many of us long to be loved with such intensity. That, in my opinion, is why the book has remained as a symbol of love and passion for over a hundred and fifty years.

I think that anyone who actually read this book, would not reguard this "soap opera," as a beautiful book. This is a novel consumed with evil, kidnapping, torture, abuse, prejudice, and hate. Furthermore, anyone who would put Heathcliff on any kind of a pedastood, either did not understand the character, or is on their way to a mentally unbalaced relationship of their own.
