LAMENTS FOR LOVED ONES
No heroic acts of courage ,
No deeds that convey my outrage
Just a low steady light
That gets me through the night
No injuries to show
No intense outpouring of sorrow,
Just a dull ache,
Scars left in ur wake
The darkness in my soul,
My apathy as a whole
That i keep alive like a low steady fire
More than any positive act i hold higher
As testimony to your continued presence in my life
The lack whereof has cut me deeper than a knife
I still remember ur fiery spirited brightness
A beautiful veil to an all human kindness
Coexisting with an almost coiled ,silent yet strong presence
LIke a beautiful green gate, barrier or fence
Veiling and yet reflecting the treasures within its defense
As if saying, “Here is Mother Nature”
Strong, beautiful , kind and a bridge to all that lies beyond her
In the landscapes of my mind,
I tread the paths of yore to find
You , a sailor , back from your voyages
A reality precipitating out of mirages
And suddenly, we are chatting and reminiscing apace
Basking In the cosy, crackling warmth of the fireplace
Thinking of the grand voyage that we are about to undertake,
“The Golden road to samarkhand”
“Women are fire and spirit embodied in bone, sinew, brain and muscle,
Men are flesh and blood transformed to mind, body and soul”
