As time passed,
Our paths parted,
Never forgetting I have a friend in you,
and so do you.
Your curly hair and green eyes,
Haven’t seen since high school.

That dark cloud of heavy cape
Covered everything but your pretty smile.

I saw the Maple which heard our gossips.
And the oak leaves of autumn colours.
Do you remember fat Marga.?
And that stupid Iota.?
They all walked down the aisle.
Couldn’t dodge the bullet we did.
I’m sure you’ll laugh.
Miss Silvia said Hi..
and little kids from Sunday School send you bunch of hugs.

Btw bestie,
Congratulations
On
Your
Graduation....
Sorry for blotting the "n" there.
I'm happy for you,
I really do.

Welcome to LitNet !

I love the sentimentality of this poem. I wrote in a similar nostalgic voice the day before yesterday (8/4/2016) on a poem I didn't post on LitNet, but rather on my web page... https://sites.google.com/site/apoetingardenvalley/ : "To Melody - Not On Her Birthday". I like your poem much better (mine needs work).

A couple of thoughts on the syntax (noted in red) for "Couldn’t dodge the bullet; we did." and the end line "I really am"

Looking forward to more of your poetry !!!

Ta ! (short for tarradiddle),
