When a third of a nation
Lacks a lick of sense;
When these "angry aggies"
Rise and rage without motive
But the buoyant force
Of their copious bile;
When truth loses debates,
And unreason triumphs . . .
What can one do?
These gobble-cheeked gophers
Speak from their bum-lips,
Can't stand an opinion
Two degrees wide of theirs;
They consume their own filth
Like rockpile pikas,
Popping out of their lairs
Just to nibble and squeak,
Afraid of the world
Beyond their own burrows.
They'd kill their own kind
If immured side by side!
Not a bad idea, that—
Build a wall around them.
